IN BOLGRAD, VOLUNTEERS FROM THREE EUROPEAN COUNTRIES WERE TAUGHT TO WRITE INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS

Within the framework of “Development and Promotion of  Common Heritage BSB1010 of the EMS Operating System “Black Sea Basin 2014—2020” Project, a training workshop for volunteer groups was held in Bolgrad for three days. The groups included active people from the participating countries of the project, namely General Toshevo (Republic of Bulgaria), Murfatlar (Romania) and Bolgrad (Ukraine).

Opening the training workshop, Serhii Dymytriiev, the Bolgrad City Mayor, noted: “I am glad to welcome all participants in our city. I wish you fruitful work for the further development of the cities you represent. It's good that there is a project that gives an opportunity to meet and learn”.

The training workshop was entitled “Presentation of Goals and Activities of the Project and Current Trends in Tourism Development, Promotion of Cultural, Historical and Natural Heritage”.

The first day of lectures included acquaintance of the participants with the historical past of the city of Bolgrad. The lecture named “Bolgrad in the Lens of Tourists Today and in the Past” was given by Tetiana Simonova.

The lecture was followed by a practical part on “Cultural, Historical and Natural Heritage as an Area of Opportunities for Public Participation”. During the practical part, the participants had the opportunity to create an emblem of their chosen object. The task was quite complicated, but had a high practical value, because the emblem was based on associations, symbols of the participating cities of the project. Participants from different countries then learned with the help of interpreters to present their objects, which are located in the country and, in their opinion, can be included in the National Heritage List.

Then the volunteers, led by Volodymyr Sierov, the Director of the Museum of Military Glory in Bolgrad, went on a city tour. Guests of the city got acquainted with the most interesting historical monuments of Bolgrad.

After a lunch break, the volunteers continued to work on and present their mini-projects.

The second day of the training workshop was entirely devoted to two important aspects of teamwork. First, of course, this is a lecture part during which the lecturer Valerii Dimitrov, acquainted those present with important components of the international project as an activity. Valerii Dimitrov already has experience of participating in international projects. Participants learned about project writing algorithms; statement of the problem and the idea of the project; setting realistic goals and objectives for the project; project implementation methods.

The lecture part of the training workshop was constantly interspersed with interesting practical tasks, which were devoted to the Japanese method of team building. The tasks of team building allowed not only in a short time to create teams from project participants, but also to identify leaders among them and so on.

Then, everyone interested from the three participating countries went on a tour to the neighboring city of Izmail, where they had the opportunity to learn about the historical heritage of this ancient city.

On the third day, the participants exchanged impressions and received Diplomas for participation in the training workshop “Presentation of Goals and Activities of the Project and Current Trends in Tourism Development, Promotion of Cultural, Historical and Natural Heritage” within the international project "Development and Promotion of Common Heritage”.

The general conclusions were made by Yuliia Dimitrova, the Project Manager from Ukraine: “After this workshop, each of you gained an understanding of what an international project is and how interesting it is. You can use all the acquired skills in life. For convenience, we have published the entire lecture part in abstracts and gave it to you in the materials of the workshop. Thank you for participating!”.

Thereon, the workshop in Ukraine was completed, but within the framework of “Development and Promotion of Common Heritage BSB1010 of the EMS Operating System “Black Sea Basin 2014—2020” Project, the course for volunteers from three countries will be continued in Bulgaria and Romania.
